Water Restrictions

Current Water Restrictions

The City of Boerne is currently in Stage 2 Water Restrictions, effective Monday, August 7, 2023. Expand the menus below to learn about each stage of restrictions.

Water Restrictions Overview

The City of Boerne has four stages of water restriction measures that are mandatory for all Boerne Utilities customers. City ordinance allows for the issuance of citations for water violators with fines up to $1,000 per violation.

Under Stage 1 Water Restrictions, residential and commercial utility customers are required to limit the use of water for landscape irrigation. These rules also apply to reclaimed water customers.

Customers are permitted to use individual sprinklers or sprinkler systems for lawns, gardens, or other landscaped areas on ONE DAY PER WEEK as assigned.

  • Watering is only allowed from midnight to 11 a.m. and from 7 p.m. to midnight on your designated day.
  • Watering on weekends is not allowed.
  • Watering by hand with a hose or bucket is allowed at any time.

Designated watering days are assigned according to the last number of the street address. If your address ends in:

  • 0 or 1: Water on Monday
  • 2 or 3: Water on Tuesday
  • 4 or 5: Water on Wednesday
  • 6 or 7: Water on Thursday
